![]() ![]() But yesterday's rotation and oil change (which I had a scheduled appointment for) was an example of the change we have experienced over the past 3 - 4 years. They remembered the last set of tires or repair that you had and were always open to provide advice or input. We also bragged about how everyone in the store made you feel like you were part of the family. Todd SkaggsWe have been the Route 18 store customers for 15 years or so and used to tell every friend and family member about the speedy service for stop-in rotations as well as for scheduled services (oil change, brakes.). The "free alignment" makes difference in price but not if it's not done right the first time. Sad, but may have go to a mechanic I know is knowledgeable and gets the job done right the first time. May have to go back 3rd time for better alignment. Nothing mentioned about scraped up hubcap. Told by this sales person that tires were rebalanced, had correct valve stems put in and aligned again. Was told 2 wheel weights had come off front tires. Not much had been changed to correct to better zero. Had questions about tire balancing and caster adjustments. New guy at counter friendly but not mechanically knowledgeable. Plus one hubcap had a patch of chrome scraped off of it now. Inspected at home and also found the valve stems installed were so short I'd have to pull the hubcaps to add air in the future. (I kind of understand, it was a Saturday night and closing time) On my way home ( 2 exits south) could tell had more vibration than my old tires and pulled to right. By the time my car was pulled around tech was already gone. The fellow at the counter was friendly but could not answer any mechanical questions, said he would ask tech. Told they could check out the front end and install 4 tires even after posted hours. After all the years working with this store and all the family and friends I have sent to this store I'm sorry to say that the trust is now gone.Įdward AceyWent in to check prices late on a Saturday. I don't believe I can trust the new management or tire experts at this store because they are just trying to make a sale. After my conversation on why I came in he agreed that we should start with balancing and rotation and see if vibration stops. I was then taken back and finally the mechanic was not trying to sell me anything and told me he didn't find any cupping and was only suggesting new shocks and struts due to mileage and not that he felt they are bad. After a good hour of conversation and quoting my van finally was put up on a rack to be worked on. After a few days I came back for my appointment and was told I need new shocks and struts due to my 193k miles on van and may need new tires because you can't get rid of the cupping. The tire expert went out to inspect my tires and told me I had cupping on my center treads. Tires have not been balanced for about 35K miles because the dealer has been rotating them. I started with asking for a rotation and balance due to the fact that I had a vibration felt in my steering wheel. Steve LI have been doing business with this store for decades and was very disappointed with my last experience. ![]()
